Our properties, Villa Graciosa and Villa Amarela are situated on a hill-top in a recently developed area of the historic city of Lagos. Their quiet location combined with easy access to shops, beaches and other tourist attractions make them ideal holiday destinations.

Aurora-Sol is located on the periphery of the coastal resort of Praia da Luz, 8 km. from Lagos. The beaches at Praia da Luz and Burgau are easily accessible.

The western Algarve region of Portugal situated 75 minutes drive from Faro Airport remains in large part untouched by mass tourism. In the Aljezur - Lagos - Sagres triangle one can find dozens of small hidden coves and beaches walled by the impressive cliff-lined coast that is a feature of this area. Inland one can still find quiet villages where rural life continues much as it has done for centuries. On warm summer days, a refreshing diversion is a visit to the summit of Monchique, a mountain range 25km from Lagos, whose bulk dominates the whole region. From its peak, on clear days, one has views over 80km of surrounding countryside and coastline.

Lagos, itself and the town of Sagres, located 25km away at Cape St. Vincent on the most South-Western point of Europe, are of great historic interest being the origin of the famous Portuguese voyages of discovery in the 15th and 16th Century which opened the sea-routes from Europe to the Far East and set the stage for the subsequent economic development of Europe and its diverse Empires.

For sports lovers, this region is remarkably well-equipped. Apart from the dozen or so golf courses situated within a 5 to 45 minute drive from the properties, Lagos boasts a fully equipped Marina where one can find information on a range of water-based activities. Tennis facitlties, bowling greens, surfing and horse-riding are also all available in the area.

Finally, one must not forget a final delight of the Algarve....its cuisine. Through the region one finds delightful small cafe-restaurants whose offerings would not disgrace the tables of the best cordon bleu establishments. Accompanied by a refreshing Portuguese Wine, which in themselves are an art form, one can pass many a pleasant day simply enjoying the gourmet delights of the Algarve.
